  • Busser - Alice's

    Come Join Our Team at Alice's!

    A part-time position is available. We are looking for someone immediately. Some restaurant experience is great, but not necessary. We are willing to train! 

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Busser plays an integral part in ensuring that the functions of the restaurant are running smoothly and efficiently. Busser's are to communicate with the hosts, servers, bartenders, and management to assist where needed. Busser's are to work quickly and efficiently to provide our guests with fast and reliable service. 

    Job responsibilities are included but not limited to: 

    1. Clean tables when guests are finished dining

    2. Properly reset the table for the next guest

    3. Run food to the proper table and seat number

    4. Maintain a presentable dining room. This includes keeping tables, chairs, booths, and the floor clean

    5. Restock items that are needed to provide a pleasant dining experience (ice, linens, mason jars, etc.)

    6. Polish silverware

    7. Have a solid understanding of the menu

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Duties include the washing and sanitizing of all dishes, garbage and recycling disposal, keeping the dish area clean and free of debris, light prep work if needed.

    KITCHEN:

    Basic kitchen duties such as making sauces, dressings, preparing vegetables for salads and sandwiches, assisting all stations with any prep needs. Maintaining a clean and sanitary work station. Must have ability to lift 50+lbs, endure standing for long periods of time, work in a fast paced environment, and multi-task.

  • Line Cooks - The Windlass

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Fry: In charge of stock and prep of fry side. Must be comfortable using a deep fryer. Multitasking a must.

    Sauté: Duties include cleaning meats and seafood for station, stocking and prepping meats, seafood, vegetable and sauces for station. Maintaining a neat and sanitary station, cooking multiple items in a fast paced work environment.

    Grill: Duties include preparing all vegetables, bread, sauces and meats. Must be able to cook meat to desired temps. Maintaining a neat and sanitary work station, multitasking, working in a fast paced environment.

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Job responsibilities are included but not limited to: 

    - Keep host station organized, clean and maintained at all times

    - Field emergency calls to your colleagues on duty

    - Hosts are often quite literally the first person a customer will come into contact with either in person or by phone. Just like a host of a party, a Windlass host must greet guests as if we have been waiting for them to arrive all day long.  Kind, professional and immediate recognition of customers entering our door is a must.

    - Hosts must know the menu, daily specials, general restaurant information, table sections, dining room stations, and fellow FOH employees on duty

    - Hosts manage the phones, take reservations, record messages and answer customer questions

    - Hosts will take coats and packages from customers (birthday cakes, decorations being dropped off, etc…)

    - Hosts take the “emotional temperature” of incoming guests and will relate any noteworthy information to the manager on duty and servers regarding specifics of the reservation or needs of the guests.  Hosts recognize incoming guests, confirm their needs – and either direct them to the bar, party room OR escort them to their table.  Once seated, a host graciously hands the customer over to the care of the server.  Hosts will assist customers in leaving the building and bid them a good evening or day, thanking them for their patronage.  A host will continue with this routine throughout their shift until the last table has been sat.

    - On occasion, a host may be asked by the manager on duty to assist with service, cleaning tables, maintain the dining room

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

    A Busser works primarily in the front of the house and is required to tend to many needs of the dining room before, during and after service. Bussers assist the servers in keeping the customer’s needs met.  They also help to keep a clean and properly maintained dining room. A Bussers speed and efficiency helps turn over tables contributing to increased sales volume.  As Bussers have direct contact with customers, it is important that they speak clearly and make eye contact with colleagues and customers alike. Bussers also play a role in helping maintain and uphold sanitation and cleanliness standards.

    Job responsibilities are included but not limited to: 

    - Knowing table numbers, seat numbers and service stations

    - Help prepare the dining room for service through cleaning, stocking, setting, bussing and other tasks

    - Clean and reset tables, ensure tables are level, wipe down chairs, keep floors clean

    - Clean and stock designated kitchen and server stations

    - Remove dirty dishes, glasses and silverware from table and take them to the kitchen

    - Stock/restock stations with items needed for service; glasses, coffee mugs, silverware, assorted spoons, sugar caddies, salt, pepper, lemons, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, calamari sauce, steak knives, soup spoons, tablespoons and cocktail forks.

    - Polish silverware and glasses in a sanitary manner in the service bar area to remove spots and water stains

  • Expeditor- The Windlass

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Expeditor, or “Expo”, works under the FOH manager on duty and chef’s supervision in the kitchen as well as with the servers in the dining room. The Expo helps keep a smooth workflow between the kitchen and the tables. You will work in a fast-paced environment to get proper orders out faster and more efficiently. As Expo, you must have excellent communication skills and experience in a restaurant’s hectic setting. You must also have enough stamina to be in constant motion and skills to coordinate and organize processes and people. The ability to work well under pressure, be professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and courteous is necessary.

    Job responsibilities are included but not limited to: 

    - Help prepare the expo station for service through cleaning, stocking, and other tasks

    - Knowing table numbers, seat numbers and service stations

    - Knowledge of all the ingredient details of every dish on the menu

    - Ensuring the efficient flow of orders from the servers to the kitchen

    - Ensuring orders are being prepared with the correct priority

    - Assisting in the final preparation of dishes

    - Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature

    - Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashing

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Food Runners often act as a connection between the FOH and BOH which makes an impact in the timeliness of service. The main responsibility for this position is to deliver food to guests in a friendly, professional & knowledgeable manner. The ability to work well under pressure, be professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and courteous is necessary. Food Runners eliminate a lot of stress and discord by communicating information between the kitchen or Expo and servers, and delivering food orders promptly. 

    Job responsibilities are included but not limited to: 

    - Help prepare the expo station for service through cleaning, stocking, and other tasks

    - Assist with cleaning and resetting tables, ensure tables are level, wipe down chairs, keep floors clean

    - Clean and stock designated kitchen and server stations

    - Knowledge of all the ingredient details of every dish on the menu

    - Follow all instructions from expeditor

    - Garnish and prepare dishes for presentation as needed

    - Promptly deliver each course as it is prepared to the correct table and in seat order
