Position Summary:
The Front of House Manager will report directly to the Executive Director and Director of Strategic Operations. The FOH Manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating restaurant/office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. The FOH Manager is in control of ensuring that all components within the restaurant are functioning correctly and smoothly to certify that the restaurant is best represented to the public on all accounts and is operating consistently up to standards at all times.
As the FOH Manager, you are required to be present on the floor during service. It is essential that the FOH Manager be an expert on all aspects of service. If any one section of the restaurant needs help, the FOH Manager should be able to identify the problem immediately, direct and delegate action in order to solve the problem, and/or jump in if necessary. This requires being well versed with the menu, service, and rules and guidelines. This also requires a hands-on manager who is constantly striving for the perfect guest experience. This means that they are constantly monitoring all aspects of the experience: the atmosphere, the food, and the service. A proactive, positive, “in-charge” attitude is vital.
